English Daycare and Preschool in Espoo
Albatross Daycare was established in 1998. It is a private, Finnish owned daycare, in which the working language is English. We offer daycare places for 100 children between 1 – 6 years old. Albatross attracts both Finnish and international families who would like their child to be part of an active environment. Albatross Daycare and Preschool are located in the Leppävaara area, which offers easy access to local amenities such as public transportation.
The daycare founder and owner, Eija Rolamo, received the “Entrepreneur of the year”, in 2006, for recognition of the daycare’s accomplishments.
Albatross as a Partner
Albatross is a reliable partner and takes its responsibilities as an employer and a service provider seriously. Albatross Daycare cooperates with municipalities/ local children’s health centers (neuvola) and schools. The daycare provides pedagogical support for all groups and assists families.
Opening Times
The daycare opens at 7:30 and closes at 17:00.
Albatross Daycare is open for 12 months a year but closed during weekends and on all public holidays. In July the daily opening times are a little bit shorter than normally.
Professional Staff
The daycare has staff members from all over the world, currently we have 15 different nationalities among our teaching staff. In addition to the teaching staff, the daycare also employs a pedagogical manager, a special needs teacher, a general manager and two cleaners.
With these additional staff members, we ensure that the children receive the best early childhood education possible.

This week the Finches were focusing on an Arts and crafts project about their family. We practiced our fine motor skills and we shared some of our family stories with our friends.
We also made a nice card for our next week's visit to the fire station.
We enjoyed going to the gym and outdoor play where we practiced our gross and fine motor skills. By the end of the week we baked a Marmor/ marble cake using our student's recipe from Austria. It was delicious!

What a busy but wonderful week we’ve had, filled with active play, laughter, and lots of fun! 🤩
Our Parrots went on a forest trip, but this time they brought along cameras, binoculars, and magnifying glasses 📸🔍 to look for and capture everything that was interesting to them. They had so much fun exploring, observing, and discovering the little wonders around them. 😻
Our outdoor gym was another big hit, with lots of jumping, catching, aiming, and balancing. For our indoor gym, we continued practising our catching, throwing, jumping, and balancing skills.
We also had fun exploring the musical instruments we have at daycare. Everyone did such a fantastic job waiting patiently, taking turns, and enjoying making music together. 💞

🐧 A busy and fun-filled week with our Penguins! This week, our Penguins have been very active and creative! We enjoyed our Music class together and had plenty of fun playing and learning indoors 🎶🧸
We also went on a wonderful forest adventure together with the Parrots, where the children had lots of fun climbing, jumping, running, and exploring nature 🌳🍃
During our outdoor gym sessions, the Penguins continued developing their gross and fine motor skills through different fun and active activities 🏃🏻⚽🎾 To finish off the week, children enjoyed lots of arts and crafts as they continued adding special touches to our classroom decoration 🎨✨ It has been a lovely week full of creativity, movement, exploration, and lots of smiles! 💛
